2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
High-tech lighting adds visibility
The standard LED Daytime Running Lights and LED taillights not only look great but also increase visibility. The available HID Xenon headlights are a brilliant upgrade, while the available automatic High Beam Assist feature automatically switches from high to low beam headlights when an oncoming vehicle is detected by the forward-looking camera.
Hands-free smart trunk
This standard feature makes loading and unloading your Sonata Hybrid more convenient. The hands-free smart trunk opens automatically when it senses the Proximity Key is behind the vehicle within three feet for more than three seconds.
Sit down and relax
The driver seat has an available 10-way power adjustment with power lumbar controls to make even long trips seem short. There's also an available 6-way adjustable power passenger seat. The standard dual automatic temperature controls are nice in any weather plus the available heated front seats provide extra comfort when the temps turn cold. When the weather warms up, the available ventilated front seats help cool things down.
Blue skies ahead
Part of designing a hybrid that's more beautiful on the inside is giving you a better view of what's outside. With the available power tilt-and-slide panoramic sunroof, everyone can get their daily dose of sunshine, fresh air and vitamin D.
Under the hood
Using a fully parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) system provides optimum power, with engine and battery power supply working simultaneously. The Sonata Hybrid switches seamlessly between a gasoline engine and an electric motor to deliver efficient power. The gasoline engine delivers the primary charge energy for the lithium-ion polymer batteries while the regenerative braking system provides supplemental energy.
Steering feel meets freedom of choice
Everybody has a different take on steering feel. Some want more steering effort, others less. Well, with Drive Mode Select, now you get to choose. Drive Mode Select adjusts throttle response and transmission shift points as well as steering calibration to match your driving style. Select from three modes: Eco, Normal or Sport by simply touching a button on the center console.
Driver's knee airbag
This standard feature offers added protection for the driver and is just one more innovative element of Sonata Hybrid's comprehensive passive and active safety systems.*
Lane Departure Warning
Drift outside your lane without signaling and this available system is designed to inform you with an audible and a visual cue. It turns technology into a tool that helps drivers maintain vehicle control and lane positioning.*
Audio systems that offer so much
The standard 7-inch color touchscreen audio system with rearview camera includes HD Radio™ , SiriusXM Satellite Radio and Hyundai Blue Link® Connected Car System, plus Apple CarPlay™ support and Android Auto™. Looking for an upgrade? Select the available 8-inch touchscreen navigation with 400-watt Infinity® premium audio system. It comes with the features of the 7-inch system and adds SiriusXM Travel Link with a complimentary three-month subscription. Plus the built-in smartphone/USB and auxiliary input jacks let you access your smartphone through the audio controls, display track and artist information, even charge as it plays.*
Smart Cruise Control with stop/start capability
When this available feature is activated and it detects a vehicle in your lane ahead, it automatically slows the Sonata down maintaining a safe distance with the vehicle ahead and will even come to a full stop, then start again without driver input.
*The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is not a substitute for seatbelts, which should be worn at all times.
*Lane Departure Warning will not work under all circumstances. It functions when it is able to detect painted lane markings. It cannot function if the lane markings cannot be seen clearly if the lines are faded, or during dusk without headlights on, with snow, rain, sleet, dust, leaves or standing water on road, sudden changes in brightness such as shadows, tunnel exits/entrances, low sunlight angle causing reflections, multiple lane markings or criss-crossed lines, tar crack sealer and cracked or broken road surfaces. It also may not function on very rough roads, when walls, curbs or concrete barriers are close by, or if following another car too closely. Since it "sees" the lane markings using a camera in the upper windshield area, it is imperative this area be clear and free of blockage such as stickers, dirt, snow, tinting material, markings and labels. Avoid putting objects on the dashboard that may reflect light or images onto the system camera area.

*Smart Cruise Control with stop/start capability is not a collision avoidance or warning device. Smart Cruise Control is for highway use only and should not be used in poor weather, heavy or varying traffic, or on winding or slippery roads. Driver remains responsible to slow or stop the vehicle to avoid a collision.
